About Russell Olivera Jr.Mid-South Pride's - 1st National Board Member / Media Coordinator / Publicist & Webmaster.
In 1999, Olivera left the thrills of the entertainment world, and created a unique media endeavor called QBliss (www.qbliss.net). The target audience was the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, intersexed communities and their allies. Olivera wanted a form of media that was truly community based, that was not about the bottom dollar, and not the stereotypical “in your face sexual bombarding” found in most of GLBTI media. With the creation of QBliss he managed to create just that a safe place for a greater community to feel at home, get real information, and where a questioning youth could in fact find a safe place that wasn’t about our communities sex life or how to get the perfect abs. Where a mother, father or family member could also be welcomed and see a true reflection of our community. In February 2008, Mid-South Pride hosted the 2008 POSE (Prides Of The South East) Conference in which Olivera presented a workshop entitled " Getting Media, GLBTI Media & How To Deal With Media". At that conference Mid-South Pride asked Olivera if he would consider being the organizations very first national board member, Olivera was honored and accepted the position. His vast knowledge of how to deal, handle, and the use of the media for nearly 19 years has been an asset to many. Olivera continues to serve as both the executive director and editor in chief of QBliss, runs a small media and internet company and is in his limited spare time is a photographer, writer, artist, and much more. He has been partnered for nearly 11 years. For more information visit: www.rolivera.com. Contact Russell Olivera At: Phone: 1-877-372-5477 or By Email Click Here: |
